Many hikers are looking for more and more experiential and challenging routes throughout Israel, and among other things, tourists have long since discovered the variety of sections that make up the Israel Trail and make it a real attraction. Completing the entire journey is a complex task, perhaps too complex for someone whose fitness is not at its peak, but even if you choose to leave each time from a different point and a shorter route, you will still enjoy the abundance and beauty that awaits you along the route. Many hikers choose to start their journey in the north, but those who prefer to hike along the Israel Trail in the south can certainly choose some beautiful and special sections from a long list of impressive routes. We go on organized trips on the Israel Trail from the south every fall.
Taking off!
One of the most beautiful spots on the Israel Trail in the south is, for example, the Great Crater. Tourists really like this route, by the way, and one can largely understand why it is popular with ordinary Europeans for greener and richer nature, and less for deserts. The sections of the Israel Trail in the south generally offer quite a few beautiful desert landscapes and lots of special and exciting backgrounds. Beyond the journey to the crater, the routes on the Israel Trail in the south also include Mount Deer, Sapir Lake and Shaharut, points that are each an experience in itself. The Judean Desert area also offers its own abundance and interest, from immersion in the Dead Sea that simply cannot be given up, to journeys in the mountains of Jerusalem.

Preparations for the trip
Now that you have chosen an ideal route for you and you know how to estimate the duration of the route and the degree of its difficulty, it is time to prepare for it logistically. Make a bag – as minimalist as possible so that you carry as little as possible. In this bag, be sure to take every item that will help you along the way, and especially marked maps and information on the various routes. Food, drink, clothes bag, toiletries, tent and sleeping bag are the most basic and important things. As part of your preparations for the route, do not forget to plan one more important detail, and that is the identity of the person who will walk alongside you along the way. Choosing a partner for a trip on the Israel Trail in the south is a very important step, as as individual hikers you may find it very difficult at certain moments on the route, and a comfortable and suitable partner will make it significantly easier for you.
