Most people who go on an Israel Trail trip in the north, go out for a few days and then come back. Even the people who join our organized journey, in some cases join some of the sections. If you are planning a warm-up trip before you join us for the whole trip or part of it, here are some tips to help you get by in the first part – the part that begins at Kibbutz Dan.
Israel Trail, Map and Book – Plan the route and stopping points and accommodation by marking on the map or book of maps even before you set out on a journey. Spontaneity is nice, but more than once people are stuck in the middle of a reserve. A place where both forbidden and unpleasant to sleep They managed to contact the angels of the Israel Trail, in other cases they were forced to improvise.
Stopping in towns and cities – in the north, of course, there is no reason to bury water. But even in the spring months there are sometimes hot days, so if you have calculated how many liters of water you need per day, it is possible that weather changes will result in increased consumption. You can buy water in towns and cities along the way. The Israel Trail works through a large part of Tiberias, so you should take the opportunity.
Proper rest – sometimes people want to get as much as possible in one day, so much so that they discover in one moment of collapse that they have run out of energy. Take the time to rest, especially if you are carrying heavy equipment on your back. For example, we recommend staying overnight on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, even a weekend to gather strength. If you leave the Sea of Galilee and continue south, a difficult climb awaits you on Mount Arbel – so it is important to rest accordingly.
Using the map: After you have marked everything you need on the map of the Israel Trail in the north or on a map in the book you took, follow it and mark your walking route. Sometimes it is easy to miss the known marking of the trail and then get lost. The map will help you keep track. In case you got off the trail and got lost this map will help you get back.
You are welcome to follow our schedule on the Israel Trail in the north, south and center and also join us / or for events such as Passover in the desert or Lag B’Omer and weekends in various places.
